Meet The Team

Colin Parkins Managing Director

Colin Parkins

Managing Director

Colin has more than 30 years’ experience in the plastering industry, both in the UK and internationally.

After qualifying as an accountant in 1973, he went on to take up the role of Finance Director at De-Fitz Plastering Ltd, a specialist solid and fibrous plasterwork company.

Over the next 10 years, Colin realised his vision of overseas operations as co-owner of Designed Plastercraft Associates Ltd. He spent time in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Brunei; the latter after securing major work on the Sultans Palace. From royal palaces to hotels, projects flooded in. The company was also awarded contracts working for the supply and fix of decorative plaster ceilings on two private ships being constructed in Finland, major fibrous ceiling works within the new Iraqi Embassy in Helsinki and the refurbishment of the Amstel Hotel in Amsterdam.

After a hectic period of time abroad, Colin returned to the UK to spend much needed time with his family. He reverted to the role of an accountant, operating as a “company doctor” across a number of sectors but by 1998 he had returned to the plastering industry.

In September 2010, Colin took on the role as Managing Director and owner of Decorative & Ornamental Plastering Ltd. The past 10 years has seen the company go from strength to strength, successfully competing with the very best of what can be offered in the supply of specialised plastering fields and decorative fibrous plasterwork.

Jo Colclough

Company Secretary

Since leaving education, Jo has worked in accounts admin, mostly within the construction industry. She joined the original Decorative & Ornamental Plastering Ltd team in 1998 on a part-time basis and has been a core part of the team ever since.

During Jo’s time at the company, the scope of her role has grown considerably, and she is responsible for producing the company’s accounts on a quarterly and yearly basis.

Although office based, Jo joins the managers on site whenever there is an opportunity. Site visits give Jo the chance to see the craftmanship of the team first-hand, affording her a greater knowledge of the company’s work beyond the office.
