Mark Fossey Contracts Manager

Mark Fossey

Managing Director

Starting out as a plastering apprentice with R. Flacks back in 1981, Mark has 38 years’ experience in the industry. After completing his Plastering City & Guilds in 1985, he went on to work for various companies specialising in fibrous plastering.

Prior to joining Decorative & Ornamental Plastering Ltd, Mark spent 14 successful years at Simplicity Mouldings & Interiors progressing from charge hand, to workshop foreman to workshop manager. In 2014, he also obtained a further City & Guilds qualification in Computer Aided Design (CAD).

He has worked on some highly prestigious projects including Harrods, the Queen’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace, the British Library, the Olympic Stadium and the Regents Palace Hotel. 

Mark joined the company in 2018 as one of three contracts managers specialising in fibrous plastering and hair lime plastering. He is SMSTS trained and works across some of our biggest projects, most notably Sotheby’s.

Richard Day Contracts Manager

Richard Day

Managing Director

Richard worked in the construction industry as a fixer for many years before sitting his Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyor (RICS) exams in 2014 and 2015.

Since then he has been a contracts manager at Decorative & Ornamental Plastering Ltd, successfully delivering a range of projects for the company.

 

Richard predominately manages the dry lining, partitions, suspended ceilings and solid plastering works including hair lime plastering projects. One of Richard’s most recent and notable projects can be viewed here

Allen Jamieson

Fibrous Plaster Contracts Manager

Allen started his apprenticeship with Thomas & Wilson Ltd in 1991 where he completed his Fibrous Plastering NVQ Level 3 & also winning the apprentice of the year award. Having learnt the trade the traditional way, in the workshop and on site, after 18 years, moved on to work for more modern companies around the South East. 

Allen has applied his trade in numerous high end properties both domestic and commercial. From working on the restoration at Windsor Castle, various phases at Harrods, The National Gallery and most recently, The Dorchester Hotel in London. 

He has now been in the trade for over 32 years and has been with Decorative & Ornamental Plastering Ltd for over 5 years.

Jeff Williams

Dry Lining/Partitioning Contracts Manager 

Jeff posses over 40 years in the Dry Lining, Ceiling Systems, GRG, GRC, Restoration/Construction Industry. Directing medium and large scale construction projects within the commercial, residential & historical development sectors. 

Canary Wharf Shopping Center, Corinthia Hotel in London, Battersea Power Station, Shangri La at the Shard & the Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth are just some of the impressive projects he has worked on during his career.

Alex Corneanu

Solid & Historical Plastering Contracts Manager

Alex started his career working as a plasterers apprentice in 1999 doing refurbishment works in hotels. His since achieved his NVQ Level 2 in Solid Plastering & NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Work Supervision.  

He joined Decorative & Ornamental Plastering Ltd in 2011 and with his hard work and dedication has progressed within the company to a Contracts Manager.

John Gorman

Workshop Foreman

After joining Decorative & Ornamental Plastering Ltd as a shop hand in 2018, John has progressed to the very important role as workshop foreman.

John has gained his experience as a fibrous plasterer over a period of 40 years with companies both in this country and throughout Europe, learning his skills along the way.

Jo Colclough

Company Secretary

Since leaving education, Jo has worked in accounts admin, mostly within the construction industry. She joined the original Decorative & Ornamental Plastering Ltd team in 1998 on a part-time basis and has been a core part of the team ever since.

During Jo’s time at the company, the scope of her role has grown considerably, and she is responsible for producing the company’s accounts on a quarterly and yearly basis.

Although office based, Jo joins the managers on site whenever there is an opportunity. Site visits give Jo the chance to see the craftmanship of the team first-hand, affording her a greater knowledge of the company’s work beyond the office.
